The general administration of WHO is funded by contributions from its member states according to their GDP — supposedly.
In actuality, US contributions have been what actually has kept it afloat, totaling nearly 25% of its budget based on the last appropriation (some $100M in “dues” plus $400M+ in discretionary spending on various WHO projects. Total: a half-billion dollars. China? 40–50 million dollars reportedly).
Senator Lindsey Graham, Chairman of the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs within the larger Senate Committee on Appropriations has promised that there will be NO funding in the next appropriations bill for the WHO. If the Director-General does not resign, then that half billion dollars can go to some other useful US Government endeavor. Better yet, why not leave WHO altogether?
